What is Danse Macabre?
Danse Macabre is an immersive gothic event blending fantasy, theatre, and nightlife. Inspired by the allure of vampire folklore and dark romanticism, it is a one-of-a-kind masquerade gathering where elegance meets the eternal night.
Is Danse Macabre a costume event?
Yes. We encourage all guests to dress in theme—gothic, Victorian, vampiric, cyberpunk or darkly elegant attire. While costumes are not mandatory, they are strongly recommended to fully enjoy the atmosphere.
Is this a LARP or roleplay event?
No. While the event has theatrical elements and strong thematic ambiance, it is not a live-action roleplay (LARP). Guests are welcome to dress in character and enjoy the immersive setting, but no in-character roleplay is required or expected (unless you want to).
Where do I buy tickets?
Tickets can be purchased exclusively through our official website: www.dansemacabre.com.au. We recommend booking early, as capacity is limited.
Can I buy tickets at the door?
If tickets do not sell out online, a small number may be available at the door. However, we cannot guarantee availability, so we advise booking in advance.
Will food and drinks be available?
Yes! On the night there will be canapes served to all the guests in the first hour and there will be an open bar for 2 hours serving wine, beers, ciders and soft drinks.
Is there an age restriction?
Yes. Danse Macabre is an 18+ event. All guests must show valid photo ID upon entry.
Event Experience
What kind of entertainment will there be?
Expect a curated mix of live performances, gothic and electronic music by vampire DJs, theatrical vignettes, themed photo areas, and elegantly eerie installations. Full line-up details will be announced closer to the event.
Can I take photos or videos?
Photography is allowed in designated areas. We ask guests to be respectful of others’ privacy, especially in more intimate or immersive spaces. A professional photographer will be present, photos will be shared post-event on our website and social media.

Do I need to know vampire lore or mythology to enjoy the event?
Not at all. Danse Macabre is designed to be welcoming and enchanting even for first-time visitors to gothic or vampire culture. You’ll be drawn into a world of mystery, elegance, and shadow—no homework required.
